January 22 - Guest Speakers: Ajahn Anandabodhi & Ajahn Santacitta, nuns from the Thai Forest tradition who reside in the Amaravati Monestary outside of London

February 12 - Tuesday, February 12th @ 7PM Carol Newhouse will speak on Buddhist LOVE. A pre-Valentine' s Day talk on the emotional attitude and qualities we need to nurture wholesome, and healing thoughts: Love, Compassion, Joy and Equanimity, the four Divine Abodes of the Dharma often called the 4 emotions worth having.
February 26 - Poetry can be a song of praise, of deep spiritual questioning, a prayer, a lament. What is it to you, and what is it that moves you? Come share in POETRY NIGHT AT LBS.

March 11 - Celebrated Bay Area poet Janell Moon will read and discuss her work. She will talk about her spiritual inspiration in the dharma, creativity and their interconnection.
March 25 - Panel of Sangha members talk about Buddhsim and Nature and their experiences with silent retreats and experiences in nature.

April 8 - LBS joins the ralley for Tibet in SF at 6:p.m. Contact Carol for details.
April 22 - Sylvia Boorstein of Spirit Rock is our special guest: "I like talking about spiritual practice as not being separate from regular life practice and about social activism being inherent in spiritual practice.... that we are practicing for the well being of all"

May 13 - Carol Newhouse will be addressing the importance of JOY in the practice of the Dharma. Joy is a limitless quality of heart that can lead to freedom, like its sister qualities of loving kindness and compassion.
May 27- Zen Priest Jana Drakka who works with homeless people. "Allow me to help you find the one thing that can never be taken from you – peace of mind."
June
June 10 - Martha Boesing and Sandy Boucher will discuss and lead the practice of TONGLEN. Tonglen giving and receiving is a traditional Tibetan Buddhist practice to help us deal with the difficulties, terrors, psychological assaults in our outer and inner environment, as well as the minor challenges in our daily life.
June 24 - Carol Newhouse will lead us in a guided meditation emphasizing mind body connection as a door to awakening. There will be a brief talk followed by practice discussion.
July
Tuesday July 8th - Karen Sundheim will offer a talk on Dharma practice
in the workplace. Karen is a much respected and loved member of LBS and a Senior Student
at Berkeley Zen Center.
